Game Highlights:First Period - The Blues looked decent throughout the first period . With that being said, they went into the locker room down by one. Jonas Brodin scored late in the first off of a one time chance. Jordan Binnington wasn able to make the stop because Joel Eriksson Ek makes a better door than a window. 1-0 Wild after one. Shots in the period were 13-10 in favor of the Blues. Shitty Second Period -Just 32 seconds into the second period, the Wild doubled their lead. Despite Ryan Oeilly winning the faceoff, the Wild got to the puck first. Wild got a shot on net that Binnington made the save on but gave up a huge rebound. Eriksson Ek was right there to bury the rebound chance. The Blues pulled to within one thanks to Mike Hoffman and the red hot Blues power play. The Blues won the face off and controlled the puck. The puck was moved down to Vladimir Tarasenko. Tarasenko hit Hoffman with a perfect pass that Hoffman slammed home past Cam Talbot . The Blues have now scored a power play goal in eight straight games. But the fun was short lived as the Wild scored a goal just 1:02 later to retake their two goal lead. Marcus Foligno also took advantage of players make better doors than windows theory as he scored with traffic in front. Shots in the second period were 16-7 in favor of the Wild. Third Period - The Blues scored just under four minutes into the period. Again on the power play. And guess again who it was Zach Sanford. Nice try. No it was once again Mike Hoffman with his wicked one timer. Shout out to David Perron nice cross ice feed. It was now 3-2 Blues and the team was looking more like the team in the first than in the second. . . Matt Dumba turned the puck over behind his net. Robert Thomas said thank you very much (probably). He then found Jordan Kyrou skating towards the net. Kyrou got the puck on net and under Talbot pads. 25 had been all over the ice to include getting denied on a breakaway in the first. It was nice to see his hard work from the night pay off. It was really nice to see the Blues come back yet again. With just 23 seconds left in the game Robert Thomas gave the Blues the 4-3 lead. Thomas collected the puck, skated between two Wild efenders and roofed the puck past Talbot. Thanks for coming . The Blues notch three goals in the third and snap the Wild seven game winning streak. You just hate to see it. The Blues and Wild go right back at it tomorrow night. Final shot totals were 32-29 in favor of the Blues. That included not allowing a shot on goal for the Wild over halfway through the third. Tweets of the Game:Huh. Robert Thomas scored the third-latest go-ahead goal in regulation in the NHL this season as the StLouisBlues completed a two-goal third period comeback to win and halt the Wild win streak at seven games.
